What this service is designed to solve
As-built surveys close the gap between design drawings and field reality. Depending on the asset, we may use Total Station, GNSS, digital levels, laser scanning or a hybrid workflow to record the required geometry and compare it with design information.
Typical scope and deliverables
Field-to-office workflow
Define the survey specification
Confirm limits, control, coordinate system, required accuracy, feature list, deliverables and site constraints.
Capture and check
Use the appropriate survey instrument mix, perform control and closure checks, and document field observations.
Process, QA and deliver
Transform observations into clean engineering outputs with naming, layers, metadata and quality checks suitable for the agreed use.
Frequently asked questions
Can you compare as-built data with design drawings?
Yes. Where design CAD/BIM information is provided, the measured condition can be checked against relevant design geometry and reported as agreed.
Is laser scanning always required for as-built surveys?
No. The method depends on the asset and required detail. Many external and civil as-built surveys can be completed with Total Station and GNSS; complex geometry may benefit from laser scanning.
Can you survey roads and utilities as-built?
Yes, subject to scope and site access. We can record alignments, levels, structures and other agreed features for civil and infrastructure records.
